Ruminations of a digital immigrant in a wired world

Here's a presentation that Tom Stead, WIRED Associate Director for Education delivered to a group of educators last week. Great overview of the importance of digital media for education.
Also, take alook at some of the snapshots of WIRED Island located in the Links on the right sidebar.
Despite having retired after 30+ years in Workforce Development and spending the past year and a half greatly enjoying my work with interactive media through the DOL WIRED grant, I made the difficult decision in September 2009 to return to state government for one more (final?)tour of duty. Call me crazy.
When I returned to State employment, I decided to retreat from blogging fearing that my views would be construed as either State policy or reflecting the views of the Governor. However, having drunk the kool-aid of interactive media, I have found restraining myself to be increasingly difficult. So, here’s my returning disclaimer. I reserve the right to be absolutely wrong. The views expressed in this blog are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services or the administration of Governor Ted Strickland.
